Things to do

Stay at Frognal — Enjoy the garden. Use the barbecue. Play a game or just sit, relax and read a book. We would also be delighted to show you round the main house which is currently under restoration. Parts of it date from before 1400.

Walks — There are many different walks in the area. A selection of our favourite walks can be found on our dedicated walking page.

Bikes — Bring your bike. There are some beautiful cycle routes in the area. You may also enjoy Kart Racing Circuit.

Swimming — If you fancy a dip in the sea there are a number of award winning blue flag beaches in the area. These include Leysdown and Seasalter. Plus swimming (indoor and outdoor pools) at Faversham and an indoor pool at Sittingbourne.

Rainy days — Even on damp days there’s plenty to keep everyone happy. Our suggestions include: Trampoline Park, Laser Quest and the Climbing Centre. For enquiring minds visit: Dover Castle; Wingham Wildlife Park, Canterbury Roman Museum or The Historic Dockyard at Chatham.

Houses and gardens — Mount Ephraim Country House & Gardens; Belmont House and garden.

Faversham — Historic market town. Indoor and outdoor (summer only) swimming pools.  

Whitstable — with harbour and small shops plus of course oysters.

Margate — Sandy beach; Turner Contemporary Gallery

Canterbury — home of Canterbury Cathedral and historic city. Many independent shops. Lovely walks along the river meadows in the south west of the city towards Chatham. Marlow Theatre.

Leeds Castle — Beautiful grounds and one of the most beautiful castles in the country. (£££)
